Since 1939 Superior Paint & Body Services Ltd. has been a trusted choice in Calgary for complete auto body repairs. Our office staff and body shop personnel have all the knowledge and experience needed to make your visit as easy and stress free as possible.

At Superior Paint & Body Service we take the utmost pride in our work. We guarantee, in writing, that our workmanship is of the highest caliber. Plus, as one of Calgary’s oldest businesses, we have proven that we can stand the test of time while staying current with the latest technologies.

We employ some of the best people in the collision repair industry, and our staff have trained many of the workers employed at other companies throughout the industry in Calgary and beyond. In our facility alone we have hundreds of years worth of combined experience. To us this is a matter of pride. OUR HISTORY

PAST

Superior Paint & Body Service has a long history as one of Calgary’s trusted collision repair facilities in Calgary and it was founded by Mr. Allen Viner.

Within 6 years of opening his doors Al found that his small shop could not handle the volume of his business without working into the wee hours of the morning most days of the week.  Al needed more space. At the end of 1946, Al incorporated his body shop and moved into 101-17th Ave S.W – a location still owned and operated by the Viner family, operating as Economy Glass the sister company to Superior Paint & Body Service.

Over the next decades Al discovered that providing his customers with superior service & quality repairs caused his business to continue to grow and he continued to modernize his body shop procedures to achieve great service and work that we offer today.

PRESENT

Ian Viner, like his father, is focused on customer service, often giving his customers not only Superior quality repairs and service, but also his personal phone number, so he can be reached in the event that there is anything a customer may want to talk to him about.

Ian learned from his father the value of progressive thinking. He felt that Superior Paint & Body Service could be instrumental in spearheading positive action against the impact the collision repair industry has on the environment. He enlisted the help of BASF and with their help developed Superior’s exclusive “True Colors™” environmentally friendly paint system. When manufacturing technology caught up to his ideas, he installed 3 state of the art water-based paint down draft booths. Today the entire industry is trying to follow suit to adopt the more eco-friendly water-borne technology.

FUTURE

Our future will be much like our past. We will continue to provide our customers a level of personal service beyond the norm – brought about from our belief in good, old-fashioned care and attention. We will continue to be innovators in the automotive collision industry – setting milestones and adopting technologies to ensure we always deliver a vehicle in a condition that equals the manufacturer’s original flawless finish. We will continue to work to reduce our environmental impact, and to ensure that we are part of the bigger picture.
